We had a great day in Soomaa National Park, despite enormous thunderstorms! We managed to get half the canoeing done before we got completely soaked It’s a beautiful part of the world and a visit is highly recommended! I’m sure we’ll be back to finish our canoeing one day!

We flew as a family of 5 from London to Tallinn with the major purpose of our visit to be at Soomaa. It exceeeded our expectations as we, during the 5th season navigated our canoes through the forests. We managed to see the bevers in the wild during our night walk and saw the enormous Elk. The friendeliness of the people made our holiday and we were very happy to see that at sometimes the stringent EU regulations had not totally penatrated the south of Estonia…. great experience.

Soomaa is not actually a destination for Korean people like me to travel, but being fascinated by the bogshoeing which I read in the NY Times, I decided to take the trip. And boy was it worth it. I loved the natural landscape, the tranquility, and of course the friendly people. It rained quite often but the day cleared up miraculously when we visited the bogs, had lunch, and did canoeing. The Tori railway station that I came by was so simple and cute, and so was the train ride itself. We fell in love with Estonia at once and I’m sure we’ll visit there again in the future. Aitäh!
